Priya Shah is a filmmaker with eight years of experience in advertising, most recently spending two years in Kuala Lumpur working on ad films across Southeast Asia with the renowned production house Directors Think Tank and director Rajay Singh. Back in India, she collaborated with leading advertising directors and creatives, honing her filmmaking ideology, mastering the technical craft, and sharpening her directorial voice. Having worked across every stage of the process, Priya understands not just the mechanics of filmmaking, but the emotion behind a brief and the vision behind a brand. She thrives on transforming a script - whether from a client, an agency, or her own imagination - into a film that feels striking, cinematic, and unforgettable.
Her storytelling is rooted in creating lasting impressions. Whether it's a line of dialogue, a fleeting glance, or a quiet emotion, Priya believes the most powerful stories are the ones that linger long after the screen fades to black. Working in Southeast Asia's multicultural and multilingual communities exposed her to diverse cultures and perspectives, sharpening her ability to tell stories with emotional nuance and connect with the universal human experience.
She has worked across diverse sectors, creating brand films for automobiles, FMCG, fashion, aviation, CSR, Insurance and narrative-driven human stories. While fascinated by every style of filmmaking, she is most drawn to human stories and slice-of-life narratives - finding beauty and meaning in the details of everyday life.
